Mergen

Mergen is a system for the automatic capture and publishing of network datasets. We provide tools to academic institutions and research teams to access and download real-world network traffic data from CESNET, the operator of the Czech national research and education network.

Mergen provides a streamlined pipeline for capturing, processing, and sharing anonymized network traffic data. Our goal is to facilitate open research in network security and traffic analysis.

How does it work?

  • Step 1
    Data Capture

    We capture the data on CESNET3, the 400Gbit Czech academic network using Traffic Capture Infrastructure, our custom data capture tool.

  • Step 2
    Data Processing

    We process the captured PCAPs to ensure user security and privacy.

  • Step 3
    Data Publishing

    We publish the data to our internal S3 storage and enable users to download it using this public API.

  • Step 4
    Analysis and Research

    Analyze the provided datasets to advance your research.
